What is International Year One (IYO) Programme?

Fast-track to the second year of a university degree.

The International Year One allows you to study the first year of an undergraduate degree at an NCUK Study Centre, locally or in the UK, and progress directly into Year 2 of a degree at university. The International Year One has five subject routes to choose from with progression options to 300+ degree courses across 30 leading universities in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.

Designed exclusively for international students, the International Year One will give you the confidence to study at an international university by equipping you with the English language and academic study skills needed to be successful at university. As the International Year One is delivered by our Global Network of Study Centres, you can choose to start your university degree locally in your home country (or nearby), or at one of our Study Centres in the UK. The International Year One is a credit-bearing programme equivalent to the first year of a university undergraduate degree and is trusted by universities worldwide.

Qualifications for Applicants of the International Year One Programme

Qualification	Requirement
Upper Secondary Mathayom 6	Minimum CPGA 2.75 or above
Bachelor Degree year one or two	Minimum CGPA 2.00 or above
A Level	Minimum 2 D grades at A level
IB	Successful completion with a minimum of 24 points (and award of the full Diploma)
AP High School Diploma	Successful completion of a High School Diploma with a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) Plus APs with two subjects at grade 3 and one subject at grade 4.
NCUK IFY Foundation	Students must achieve two D grades in the NCUK IFY. We also consider other Foundation qualifications.

WHY SHOULD I STUDY THE INTERNATIONAL YEAR ONE?

The International Year One is ideal for students who are looking to:
• Study locally for an extra year and gain university credits to transfer to a full degree;
• Experience an international learning environment and build up a global network of contacts;
• Benefit from smaller class sizes and personalised support before entering university.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

Standard Programme: Nine Months divided into 2 semester
First Semester: October – January
Second Semester: February – June

WHAT DO I STUDY ON THE INTERNATIONAL YEAR ONE?

Like the first year of a university degree, you will study a range of topics related to your chosen subject area. You may also need to study our English for Academic Purposes module. If you’re not sure which degree would be best for you, our local NCUK Counsellors will be able to advise you.

WHAT EXAMS DO I NEED TO TAKE?

The NCUK IYO is assessed 25% by Coursework and 75% by examination. All assessments are set and moderated by NCUK

HOW DO I APPLY TO UNIVERSITY?

NCUK has a dedicated team that helps you with your university application. We also have Counsellors in each of our Study Centres that are dedicated to helping you. We will help you with your application and let you know about all the deadlines. With the NCUK guarantee, we ensure you get at least two conditional offers and if you pass the IYONE, a guaranteed place.

HOW DO I APPLY TO UNIVERSITY?

WHO MARKS THE EXAMS?

The lecturers in the centers mark all exams and continuous assessments internally. They are then moderated externally by NCUK in the UK. This is in effect a second marking.

IS THERE A RE-SIT EXAM IF A STUDENT FAILS?

Yes, re-sit examination schedules are available with the teaching centers.

CAN A STUDENTS GIVE THE FEE IN INSTALLMENTS?

The tuition fee divided into 2 instalments
• 1^st instalment is 100,000 THB ( pay deposit 100,000 THB within 2 weeks after receiving an offer letter )
• 2^ndinstalment is 675,000 THB ( Pay the rest of tuition fee 1 within 2 weeks before the semester start)

HOW CAN I PAY FOR THE TUITION FEES?

Students can make their tuition payments through the following two methods:
• Bank transfer
• Credit card payment (3% service fee applies)
